Paradise Found; Retiree options in Florida Foreclosure Homes
Who, on nearing the age when retirement is a necessity and not necessarily an option in life, doesn’t long for a change for the better? Odds are more in your favor than ever, that this year, because you have a chance to buy more property for less, you can realise a dream. My dream has always been for a small corner I could call my own in the Sunshine State of Florida. Certain afflictions that creep on many of us around this time in life mean the flat terrain, great transport and sensible shopping facilities are ideal for seniors and retirees. Florida foreclosure homes are available in a great range of styles, sizes, locations and can be found from Jacksonville to Key Largo, Tallahassee to Naples, and most places in between.
Looking for suitable better value, single family, detached dwellings for both living and investment, I recently spent a very enjoyable hour or two learning to surf the web, making the most of the search tools available with the foreclosure listings for Florida foreclosure homes. It took a little longer than it should have to get the gist off it, fingers aren’t as flexible as they used to be. Thank goodness we can still enjoy a game of golf for a while yet, after all Fl. is a senior golfer’s paradise. Thinking of access to most things I like (will consult the wife later), I narrowed my selection down to look at single family houses in the foreclosure homes in desirable neighborhoods within 30 miles of Fort Lauderdale. Voila, with a hearty hit on “enter”, up came 458 listings Miami to Boca Raton and almost to west Palm Beach. Try it, you’ll love the ease; all that searching just sitting in your new executive swivel back ergonomically designed computer chair! There are actually 3 states (Texas, Wyoming and Colorado come to mind) I am going to follow up on this way.
Back to business and Florida forclosure homes though. There seems always in this area to be pressure on low cost and rental housing for families. So I did a quick calculation and figured it was smart to secure a good discount and have some rental income as well as getting capital appreciation over time on our own home. Prices will go up again that’s for sure, and who could be in a hurry to move yet again at our stage in life? Buy at a discount and hold, Buy at a really good discount , fix up a little and rent. That’s what I say.
