Homebuyers in Jackson Not Affected by the Foreclosure Situation
For some homebuyers in Jackson, the current foreclosure crisis is not reason to stop them from buying their first home. They continue to buy properties; some of them even first time homeowners.
The deputy director of the Jackson Housing Authority said that despite the many foreclosures in different states, this is still a good time for residents to buy their own property.
Georgia Williams, a police officer in Jackson, just bought her house with the help of the housing authority.
The housing authority has been taking measures to help homebuyers in making sure that they do not encounter foreclosure problems in the future. They have given assistance especially those who are first-timers.
They will be assisting other first-time buyers through a housing fair which will be held the following week at the Jackson Marriott Hotel.
Seminars and counselling are among the activities lined up in the said fair. The primary concern of the event is foreclosure prevention. It aims to increase awareness of potential homebuyers regarding opportunities like grants subsidized by the government, among others.
First-time buyers will be given a crash course on things they must learn as homeowners – reviewing credit history, debt capability, acquisition cost of properties, and everything else they need to know to spare their properties from foreclosure. More than 70 exhibitors from the housing industry are also expected to grace the event.
Despite the housing crisis the US has been experiencing, buying a home is still something that should be considered. Several organized groups are taking the initiative to reach out to those who are scared and are reluctant at taking the risk.
Foreclosure must not discourage future homeowners in making the step right now. Every family needs a home, and with careful planning and informed decisions, any family can acquire and keep this very basic necessity.
