Eco Homes are built to be green
Eco homes are residential structures that are built and designed in accordance with green construction principles and these homes are built to improve the efficiency of natural resources such as water and energy. Eco homes are built to allow for the reduction of pollution as well as minimizing environmental waste which will ultimately lessen the negative impacts on people’s health. Eco homes fall within the category of sustainable green building which is sometimes referred to as just green. All materials used to build eco homes are natural and long lasting and do not amount to any wastage which will help long term savings. All aspects of the environment are taken into consideration such as climate change etc. By building eco homes we help reduce pollution as well as help reduce global warming and eventually will restore some of the lost balance. It is imperative that eco homes are built as earth is home to all living creatures and we should not be misusing any of the natural resources available to us. And the law states that what we take we should give back three fold which is rarely the case as we continue to relentlessly cut down forests and pollute our water supplies which ultimately creates an imbalance in the eco systems which in turn affects the entire environment.
There are numerous ways in which you can have an eco home. You can also contribute to the environment by recycling your water you use at home whereby you can recycle water from showers to water your garden and flush the toilet and you can also collect rain water which can be filtered and boiled and can be used for cooking as well as drinking. Start making your own compost for the garden by using the leaves and clippings and add all your vegetable peels in as well. Recycle all your garbage by separating the glass, metal, paper, plastic etc. In some countries people get paid to collect recycling items such as mentioned. Collect all your newspaper and magazines that you no longer require and deliver them to a paper plant or an appropriate paper dispenser used for this purpose. If you can avoid using plastic rather use glass as plastic is not biodegradable and takes centuries to decompose. So as you can see there are many ways in which one can participate in the fight against global warming and eco homes are a good place to begin.
